Resembling a lotus, the Lotus Temple or Bahai Temple is a marvelous piece of modern architectural style. The temple is an excellent example of Bahai architectural style and comprises of nine petals made of marble. Each of the nine petals stands free from the other. Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu houses this magnificent temple known as one of the most good looking temples in southern India. Varadharaja Perumal Temple is the sanctum for worshiping Lord Vishnu. The most striking feature in this temple is its ceiling that’s decorated with amazing sculptures of lizards. According to local belief, if you touch these sculptures, you get a chance to rid yourselves from the sins committed in your previous birth. The temple is one of the Divya Desams among the group of 108 Vishnu Temples. These temples were visited by 12 Alwars or saints.

In the cold locales of Uttarakhand lies this very beautiful temple called Tugnath located at a height of 3680 meters. Its a very small temple but attracts quite a fair share of pilgrims. The temple is the highest of the Panch Kedar temples and looks very pleasing with a stone facade while the top portion or the shikhara is painted bright with colors. The yellow painted entrance looks very striking, specially when it snows outside.

The Dilwara Group of Jain Temples finds mention in almost all history books in India. These five temples are classic examples of Jain architecture and are all white in color. The temples are located 2.5 kilometers from the hill station called Mount Abu. The temples are decorated with white sculptures and intricately designed walls. Each of the the sculptures looks different and crafted out of pure marble. The artists or sculptors who carved one piece after the other did their jobs remarkably well.

15. Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, Rajasthan

Do you all know which is the only temple in the whole world that’s dedicated to Lord Brahma, the creator of all life? Well, its the famous Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, located at Pushkar in the state of Rajasthan. Though, no one knows exactly who built it, but historians claim it was constructed 2000 years ago. The temple is built out of marble and stone. The blue colored pillars lend an artistic touch to its decor. The ‘garba griha’ (sanctum sanctorum) houses the three faced idol of lord Brahma.
