15 Magnificent Renaissance Paintings

The Italian Renaissance art began and refers to the era of painting in the period of late 13th century and went upto the 15th and 16th centuries that occurred around Italy and its neighbors. In Tuscany, the city of Florence is considered to be the birthplace of Renaissance and specifically of the paintings. The Italian Renaissance period has four sub divisions on a basis unknown that lasted for a hundred years in the beginning period and for seventy five in the last period. Different periods include different works by various artists but the working style of artists is not really exclusive to a particular period and can be found in the other ones. It was created by Leonardo Da Vinci across a span of four years beginning from 1503. Many people consider it to be a depiction of smile but mystery still remains on that even to this day. It is considered to be a remarkable piece of work in the history of world and Leonardo is well renowned for this great creation of his. It has been a well known subject of research for psychologists regarding its expressions as well as for mathematicians regarding its symmetrical design.

The Catholic Church was the main promoter and commissioner of the renaissance paintings when this period began. A major part of work has been hence devoted to the same theme and one of the most noted one was Virgin Mary with her child, Jesus. Madonna and child is one of such works by Duccio di Buoninsegna that was created in 1280. It was to develop a tilt towards the catholic side among masses.

Filippo Lippi’s one such work on the prevalent theme of painting Madonna and her child stood out because of its subtle angelic depiction of art while hinting at the blessings from priest. It is not yet solved dilemma regarding whether it was Jesus born accompanied by an angel or was he blessing the child that was there in that place that the artist projected. 4. Adam And Eve

Two great artists, Masolino and Masaccio are historically well renowned for their work – Adam and Eve. The figures show Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden. Both these artists were magnificent in portraying human emotions and feelings on canvas and this fact is clearly visible in their works. 5. The Flagellation

Later in the Renaissance art period, artists began experimenting with colors, light and types of core foundations. One such remarkable piece emerged when Piero Della Francesca created this piece, The Flagellation. In that he showed that the use of light varies when it is moved from center to the outside in a regular pattern. This use of lighting patterns was very sophisticated and making use of mathematics, it can be traced in its supreme efficiency for creating a well renowned piece of work.
